There are 3 types of coupon inserts distributed in the Sunday paper: Look for PG (Procter & Gamble) on the Last Sunday of every month and SS (SmartSource) and RMN (RetailMeNot) on most non-holiday weekends. Let’s get organized! You can create a coupon binder- get baseball card holders in a binder (Quick way to grab and run when you have last minute deals), file by insert- file by date (look on the spine of the insert), or envelopes- clip your coupons and paper clip them together- place in envelope.
Tip: Only coupon for what you need! If there’s only one or two of you at home, or maybe you don’t have children yet — you don’t necessarily need a six-month stockpile. You’ll save money in the long run and won’t waste food you don’t eat it. A lot of deals come in 3 month cycles. Stay tuned for more Coupon Basics!
